| TOGETHER WITH | | Good morning, Forsyth County. I hope you're staying warm and safe this morning.
Well, Winter Storm Fern certainly made her presence known this weekend. Looking out my window at the ice-coated branches, this is something you don’t see too often in Georgia. I know many of you are dealing with power outages, canceled plans, and kids bouncing off the walls on an unexpected online learning day. It's not quite the start to the week any of us planned. There are still ways to get out and connect later this week, from Singles Social Tuesday at Crooked Culture to the Galentines celebration on Thursday.
Here's to warmer days ahead. Take care of each other out there, Forsyth County.

| Cards Over Clicks helps children disconnect from their devices and reconnect with the real world. Founded by local Navy veteran Dennis Loewer, this 501(c)(3) non-profit uses the excitement of card collecting to develop critical social and learning skills.
From Pokémon and Sports to Disney and Star Wars, every free card packet comes with a grade-specific educational worksheet tailored to Georgia standards. Whether for Pre-K or High School, these packs encourage students to achieve classroom goals and engage with their peers face-to-face.
They help educators and parents turn "social media timeouts" into fun, educational wins. Their mission is simple: inspire kids to put the phone down and learn through family-friendly collecting.
Ready to inspire your students or support the community? They are actively seeking teachers to challenge their classes, educators to help design worksheets, and local business sponsors to keep the packs free.

All county government offices, courts, libraries, recreation centers, and recycling facilities are closed Monday, January 26. County Roads & Bridges crews have been working around the clock, deploying salt trucks and plows across major roadways. Governor Brian Kemp declared a statewide State of Emergency ahead of the storm. Residents are urged to stay off roads, check on neighbors, and sign up for emergency alerts at forsythco.com/alerts. Temperatures are expected to drop into the single digits Monday night. | Forsyth County Schools Move to Online Learning Day | All 55,000 Forsyth County students will participate in an online learning day Monday as Winter Storm Fern keeps school buildings and facilities closed. Teachers will share assignments through digital platforms, and all athletics, extracurricular activities, and after-school programs are canceled. The district has asked parents to check their school's website and communication apps for specific instructions from teachers. The library has announced it will waive any overdue fines that accumulate during weather-related closures, so families don't need to worry about returning materials until roads are safe.
